High Dependency Unit

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) cares for patients who generally need high level monitoring and management of their condition, but do not require admission into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). ICU patients whose conditions have improved may also be required to stay in the HD ward before being transferred to the general ward.

Patients in the HD ward are housed in four bedded air-conditioned rooms, with close monitoring of their condition by specially trained nurses. Daily assessment and continuous review of patients’ condition are monitored through special apparatus.
