Dr Ho Choon Kiat

Dr Ho is an accredited General Surgeon with subspecialty interest in Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic surgery. He graduated from the medical faculty at the National University of Singapore in 1994. He completed the Joint Specialty Fellowship in General Surgery examination in 2003. Subsequently, he was awarded two scholarships for his subspecialty development. The first, at the Surgical Clinic of the University of Heidelberg in Germany, was the HMDP scholarship to pursue a clinical fellowship in surgical oncology with a special emphasis on pancreatic surgery and pancreatic cancers. The second was a Tan Tock Seng Hospital scholarship for a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery with the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in Australia. Before joining the private sector, Dr Ho was a consultant surgeon with the Department of General Surgery at TTSH. He was also the Director of the Endoscopy Center, and the Deputy Director of the Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.
Dr Jane Tan

Dr Jane Tan at Nexus Surgical Associates is a General Surgeon with subspecialty interest in Colorectal Surgery. She graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997. She obtained her postgraduate surgical qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000, and a Masters in Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore in 2001. She was certified a Specialist in General Surgery by the Specialist Accreditation Board of Singapore in 2005, and subsequently admitted as a Fellow to the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine of Singapore.
In 2005, Dr Tan was awarded the Ministry of Health HMDP (Health Manpower Development Programme) scholarship to pursue a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery. This training was completed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. This was a comprehensive and well-rounded colorectal fellowship programme, encompassing all the important aspects of colorectal surgery. She has extensive experience in minimally invasive colorectal and general surgical procedures, treatment of colorectal cancers and benign colorectal diseases, complex perianal disorders and functional bowel disorders.
Dr Tan is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
Dr Lee Chee Wei

Dr Lee Chee Wei at Nexus Surgical Associates is a Vascular Surgeon. He graduated from National University of Singapore in 1995 and embarked on his surgical training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). This led to his Advanced Specialty Training (AST) in General Surgery which he completed in 2005. He also obtained his Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001.
Upon completing his AST, he was awarded a HMDP fellowship to do Vascular Surgery for one year at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, Australia. The training included both open surgical procedures, including open aortic repair, bypass surgery and carotid endarterectomy as well as endovascular interventions, including peripheral angioplasties, Endovascular Repairs of the Thoracic and Abdominal Aorta and Endovenous Laser Treatment of varicose veins.
Dr Lee returned from his HMDP and was subsequently appointed Head of the Vascular Surgery Service, TTSH as well as the Director of the Vascular Diagnostic Lab. He was involved in developing the Vascular Surgery Service and pushing the boundaries of peripheral arterial interventions (including use of drug-eluting balloons and stents), endovascular aortic repairs, arteriovenous fistula salvage for renal dialysis, bypass surgery (including distal bypass and trauma surgery) and minimally invasive interventions for varicose veins.
Dr Liau Kui Hin

Dr Liau Kui Hin at Nexus Surgical Associates is an accredited surgeon with many years of experience in diagnosing and treating liver, gallbladder and pancreatic cancers and disorders. His other clinical expertise includes cancer surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery, surgical infections, acute surgical care, emergency surgery, laparoscopic surgery and endoscopy. He also has a keen interest in the care of patients with neuroendocrine tumours (carcinoids) and soft tissue sarcoma. Dr Liau graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1994 and obtained his postgraduate surgical degree in 1998. The same year, he was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Subsequently, he received further training in cancer management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, USA in 2002. When he returned to Singapore in 2003, he was conferred Fellowships by Academy of Medicine (Singapore) and International College of Surgeons (USA).
Prior to private practice, Dr Liau was the Chief of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Unit in the Department of General Surgery from 2004 to 2010. His other past appointments include Deputy Head of Department of General Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, council member of Asian-Pacific Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and College of Surgeons, Singapore. In addition, Dr Liau is a member of the Society for Surgery of Alimentary Tract, Carcinoid & Neuroendocrine Tumor Society and International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.
Dr Lim Khong Hee

Dr Lim Khong Hee at Nexus Surgical Associates is an accredited general surgeon with special interests in oesophageal cancer, gastric cancer, hernia and minimally invasive surgery. He chose to specialize in general surgery as he wanted to be actively involved in the management of his patients and make a difference by performing surgical procedures for them.
Prior to private practice, Dr Lim was the Chief of the Upper Gastrointestinal Service and Senior Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. During his tenure as the Director of the Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in the hospital, Dr Lim encouraged the development of complex laparoscopic skills and led the organisation of basic, advanced and masterclass laparoscopic courses.
Dr Lim has vast experience in upper gastrointestinal and advanced laparoscopic procedures such as radical gastric resections with systematic lymphadenectomy, laparoscopic fundoplication and laparoscopic surgery for weight loss. He has also gained much experience in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr Lim is actively involved in the teaching of students and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and an Examiner in the Final Professional Examination for the Degrees of M.B.B.S.
Dr Richard Sim

Dr Richard Sim was previously Senior Consultant and Head of Colorectal Unit, Director of Surgical Training, and Director of Centre for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery (CALS), at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. As Chairman of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Colorectal Surgery Clinical Pathway Synchronization Workgroup, he led the introduction of evidence-based best care practices to optimise outcomes after major colorectal surgical procedures.
He is Past President of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore) and is currently Honorary Secretary of the Asean Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
His areas of interest include minimally invasive endo-laparoscopic surgery and enhanced recovery protocols. He has also made contributions to the MOH Guidelines for the Management of Colon and Rectal Cancers and sits on the MOH Steering Committee for Colorectal Cancer Screening.
