Graduated with Honours in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and National University of Ireland in 1993. He gained full-certification in the United States Foreign Medical Graduates Examinations and held full registrations to practice in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ireland. He later specialized in Ophthalmology, earned a Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology) from NUS, and was appointed a Clinical Tutor in the Faculty of Medicine, and an adjunct research fellow at Singapore Eye Research Institute.

He gained full-certification from the International Council of Ophthalmology. Dr Chng received Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow, College of Surgeons in Hong Kong, and the Academy of Medicine in Singapore. He also holds a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr Chng has conducted and presented clinical research on Aspheric Wavefront Lenses, Mix and Match Presbyopic Lenses, and Multifocal Lenses. He has practiced as a Consultant in the Cataract and LASIK Service in a public institution and gained wide experience with microkeratome LASIK, Epi-LASIK, and Femto-Second LASIK with different technology flap creation and ablation platforms. He is experienced in presbyopia monovision, KAMRA Inlays, Sulcoflex Multifocal implant and Crystalens accommodating lenses.

He is an accomplished cataract and LASIK surgeon, and has given instructional lectures at the meetings of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr E-Shawn Goh

Dr E-Shawn Goh is the Director of Oculoplastics, Orbit and Lacrimal Services at Eagle Eye Centre. His special interests are in Oculofacial plastic surgery, Orbit, Lacrimal and Cataract Surgery.

Dr Goh obtained his Masters degree in Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2004, and has been a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London), College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the College of Ophthalmologists, Singapore since 2008.

Prior to this, Dr Goh was an ophthalmic plastic surgeon in the Department of Ophthalmology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute. He also specializes in diseases of the Orbit, Lacrimal system and peri-ocular tissues.

Dr Goh received the Ministry of Health Scholarship in 2006, and completed a post graduate fellowship in Oculoplastics and Orbital tumors at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota. His specialty is in Orbital tumors, lacrimal system disorders, and ophthalmic facial reconstruction. He has published in international journals on topics such general ophthalmic, oculoplastic surgery and patient safety issues. He is a peer-reviewer for local and international journals.

In addition to general ophthalmic conditions, and oculo-facial surgery, Dr Goh also sees patients with concerns of facial and peri-ocular ageing changes and advises patients on other therapeutic options including neuro-modulators, skin resurfacing and temporary / semi-permanent soft-tissue augmentation.

Dr Inez Wong
Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist,
Eagle Eye Centre

Dr Inez Wong is the Director of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service at Eagle Eye Centre. Her special interests are in strabismus management and surgery (in adults and children) and paediatric ophthalmology, specializing in a range of eye problems in children such as refractive errors, myopia, amblyopia, external and anterior segment diseases, cataract, glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity. She also manages all general ophthalmological problems in adults and is experienced in performing adult cataract surgery using the latest toric, multi-focal and multi focal toric intraocular lenses.

Dr Wong obtained her medical degree from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, and completed her ophthalmology training in Singapore, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Academy of Medicine Singapore. She underwent subspecialty fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Eagle Eye Centre, Dr Wong was the Head of the Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service at National University Hospital (NUH), and Visiting Consultant at Jurong Health Services (JHS) and Health Promotion Board (HPB).

She was actively involved in medical education, and was Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Medical Education Director in Ophthalmology at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a number of years. As a member of the core faculty of the NUH Ophthalmic Residency Program, she had been a regular examiner in both the undergraduate and postgraduate ophthalmology examinations.

Currently, she is adjunct senior research scientist at Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and is a Visiting Consultant at NUH.

Graduated with an MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore in 1995. He went on to specialise in the field of Ophthalmology and obtained the MMED (Ophth) in 2003 and postgraduate qualifications from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd).

He is a Consultant Surgeon in Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology and subspecialises in the field of Vitreoretinal Diseases. His main expertise is in the fields of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, inherited retinal disorders and diagnostic visual electrophysiology. He has also performed numerous advanced small incision cataract (phaco-refractive) surgeries with wavefront, toric and multifocal intraocular lenses, and femto-laser bladeless LASIK & Epi-LASIK procedures.

Dr Cheng also has special interest in electrophysiology, having trained with Professor Graham Holder at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. He has been invited to give lectures and teaching workshops at many meetings around the region on areas of medical retina and retinal imaging. Dr Cheng is also an adjunct research scientist with the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), clinical teacher with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and part-time consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC).

He is involved in many pioneering research projects in drugs and in collaboration with many international instituitions for research. He has also published in many peer-reviewed scientific papers. Recently, Dr Cheng was appointed into the Vitreo-retina subspecialty committee, College of Ophthalmologists and representative for Ophthalmology Mount Alvernia operation committee. He is also a member of the Mount Alvernia Medical Advisory Board.

Dr Theng is the founder, Group Chairman and Medical Director of Eagle Eye Centre. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1992 with MBBS degree. Obtained post graduate qualifications, MMED (Ophth), FRCS (Edinburgh) and FRCOhpth (London).

As a cornea specialist, Dr Theng is renowned as a high volume surgeon in the areas of LASIK & refractive surgery, cornea transplants, as well as cataract surgery, performing few thousands of such surgeries each year alone. He and EEC were awarded surgeon and centre of excellence in femtosecond LASIK surgery in 2012 by Ziemer, a German company specializing in femtosecond LASER.

With special interest in the field of Presbyopia treatments, Dr Theng is well-regarded for his expertise in performing multifocal Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) implant surgeries. In 2008, he was selected to be Singapore’s representative surgeon to conduct the Phase 4 Clinical FDA Approval Trial for the new Restor +300ADD Multifocal lens implant and has performed over 1,000 multifocal lens implants in cataract surgery and he has also written a book on Presbyopia. He has also been one of the pioneers of KAMRA inlay surgeries through Femtosecond Laser assisted pocket technique in 2013 and is also the 1st surgeon in Asia to perform Raindrop inlay surgeries for Presbyopia in 2013.

A sought-after speaker who has spoken at global conferences, such as the World Ophthalmology Congress and many more, Dr Theng travelled the world to lecture and teach on LASIK, cataract and presbyopia treatments, he is also a member of Editorial Board for the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (CRST) Europe.

He represents Asia as a key opinion leader in the field of Cataract and refractive surgery for Alcon, AMO and Ziemer.

Dr Kelvin Lee is an Eye Specialist and Surgeon for Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology, sub-specializing in the management of Glaucoma.

In 2000, Dr Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore. Dr Lee was accredited in 2004 Master of Medicine (MMED) in Ophthalmology and Member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MRCSEd); and in 2008 Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCSEd).

As an Eye Specialist and Cataract Surgeon, Dr Lee has managed many patients with cataracts using the latest intraocular lens implants like toric and multi-focal intraocular lenses.

Dr Lee was specially trained in Glaucoma both overseas (Fellowship with Professor Makoto Araie, 2007) and locally (SNEC, 2008). As a Glaucoma Specialist, Dr Lee has managed many patients with glaucoma, and is specialized in many glaucoma lasers like laser peripheral iridotomy, argon laser iridoplasty, selective laser trabeculoplasty and transcleral cyclophotocoagulation. He has also performed many glaucoma surgeries like trabeculectomy, combined cataract and glaucoma surgeries (phacotrabeculectomy) and glaucoma tube implant surgeries. Dr Lee is also specialist in the management of Normal Tension Glaucoma and Neuroprotection.

For his commitment to delivering quality care and excellent service, Dr Lee was awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award in 2011.

In addition to conducting lectures to medical students and ophthalmology residents, Dr Lee also organized talks and teaching courses to update the public, nurses, optometrists, general practitioners and ophthalmologists on glaucoma and eye diseases.

As Adjunct Clinician Investigator at SERI, he was awarded research grants, collaborated with centres in Japan and published numerous research papers on eye diseases. Dr Lim Wee Kiak is the co-founder and group Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Eye Centre. He graduated from medical studies in the National University of Singapore (NUS) with an MBBS in 1992 and started his postgraduate training in Ophthalmology in 1995, graduating with a Master’s degree from NUS (MMED) and two specialist postgraduate qualifications in Ophthalmology from UK (FRCS Edinburgh and FRCOphth London) in 1998. He completed one year uveitis and ocular inflammation Fellowship at National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda USA in 2003.

Before joining Eagle Eye Centre, Dr Lim served as a consultant and a subspecialist in ocular inflammation and immunology at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He is a specialist in Ocular Inflammation, Immunology and Uveitis and has authored 26 scientific peer-reviewed publications and 9 book chapters. He is also a member of the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG), International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS) and American Uveitis Society (AUS). He serves as advisor to Singapore Opticianry Practitioners and chairman of the advisory board of Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Optometry.

Dr Lim was the Deputy Director of National Healthcare Group Eye Institute and head of uveitis ocular immunology and inflammation, Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 2007 – 2010. He is serving as a visiting consultant to SNEC and Tan Tock Seng Hospital and a member of the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital Medical Board.

Dr Lim is an accredited LASIK eye surgeon since 2003 and has performed thousands of eye surgeries including complex cataracts surgeries. He is actively involved in teaching and training young eye surgeon in SNEC and Tan Tock Seng Hospital and he has been invited as an examiner for various eye examinations.
