Dr Felicia Tan at FeM Surgery is a Breast Surgeon. She graduated with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore. She received her post-graduate training as a general surgeon at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and Singapore General Hospital and chose to subspecialize in breast surgery. She served as an associate consultant in Kerdang Kerbau Womens' and Childrens' Hospital and as a consultant surgeon in Raffles Hospital prior to starting her own practice at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and received her specialist accreditation in General Surgery in Singapore.
She is also adept with the whole range of breast surgical procedures including vacuum assisted biopsies for breast lesions. She is the pioneer of the procedure radioisotope occult lesion localization (ROLL) in Singapore “ which is used for locating non-palpable breast lesions and microcalcifications for surgical excision. She continues to perform the full range of general surgical operations.
Her clinical interest lies in treatment of breast cancer and the use of various surgical techniques to achieve the best oncologic and cosmetic outcome for her patients. This includes breast conservation surgery (lumpectomy) for cancers as well as nipple- and skin-sparing mastectomies with immediate breast reconstruction.
Her current research interests lies in breast oncology, especially in understanding breast cancer in young women. Her research background is in translational medicine, utilizing molecular and genetic profiling of tumour subtypes to identify biomarkers, which will assist in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancer. She received the prestigious Singapore Millennium Foundation Scholarship in 2007 to pursue her research interests.
Dr Roy Koh Kiok Miang

Dr Roy Koh at FeM Surgery is a Neuro Surgeon. He graduated from NUS in 2000 and subsequently obtained his Basic Surgical training in 2004, MRCS (Edin) and Master in Medicine(Surgery) in 2006, before enrolling in the Neurosurgical Advanced Surgical training in 2008. In 2010 he went on a fellowship with the Neurosurgical Department in Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, headed by Professor John Pickard. There he spent a year training under one of UK's top spinal surgeons, Mr Rodney Laing. After his success in the fellowship examinations (FRCSEd Neuro.surg), he returned to work in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital as a consultant neurosurgeon in the Department of Surgery, where, as the first neurosurgical spine consultant, was pivotal in setting up the combined spine service in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Dr Koh has the expertise to manage a wide variety of neurosurgical and spinal problems. His interests lie in minimally invasive (keyhole) spine surgeries for treatment of spinal tumors as well as degenerative and trauma related spinal problems. Dr Koh performed Singapore's first minimally invasive removal of a spinal tumor, as well as other spine surgeries, from simple discectomies, laminectomies, TLIF (transforamina lumbar interbody fusion), cervical fusion and disc replacements to complex scoliosis and deformity corrective surgeries and resection of spine tumors. He is also trained in managing neuro-oncologic and neurovascular pathologies, performing microsurgical revascularization for stroke patients, clipping of cerebral aneurysms, excision of brain tumors, evacuation of intracranial hemorrhages, skull base surgeries and more. His repertoire of procedures include minimal access neurosurgery, using endoscope and needlescope, for conditions such as pituitary tumors and sympathectomy for palmar hyperhydrosis. He is also trained in the use of Gamma knife radiosurgery for cerebral metastasis, vascular malformations and trigeminal neuralgias.
Dr Koh is a visiting consultant and educator at Khoo Teck Puat hospital and National University Hospital and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Tan Yu-Meng

Dr Tan Yu-Meng at FeM Surgery is a hepatobiliary and cancer surgeon. He graduated from the Charing Cross & Westiminster Medical School (now the Imperial College of Medicine) at the University of London with First Class Honors and Distinction in his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1994. He went on to train in general surgery at Singapore General Hospital under his mentor Professor Soo Khee Chee and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 1999.
With an interest in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary-pancreatic (GI-HPB) surgery and the treatment of cancer, he joined the department of surgical oncology at the National Cancer Centre in 2003 as a consultant. He underwent further training in advanced HPB surgery and liver transplantation at the Liver Unit of Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Subsequently he furthered his skills in living donor liver transplantation under the guidance of Professor K Tanaka in Japan.
Dr Tan was a founding member of the liver transplant team at Singapore General Hospital in 2005. He subsequently was appointed Deputy Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Surgical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre, Singapore as well as the Surgical Director of the Liver Transplantation Programme at SGH in 2007. During this time, he led the team to perform the first successful split liver transplant at SGH and the first combined Heart- Liver Transplantation in Asia in 2009.
His surgical interest also lies in the management of peritoneal surface malignancies and he led a multidisciplinary team from NCC to Washington Cancer Institute to adopt the techniques and protocols of peritonectomy and HIPEC (Sugarbaker procedure) from Dr Paul Sugarbaker in 2009. Dr Tan continues to be one of few surgeons in Asia who perform specialized surgery for peritoneal malignancies in Asia.
I graduated from the University of Singapore in 1983 and underwent postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in Singapore and attained my Master of Medicine Degree and became Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore as well as Royal College of Physician in Edinburgh. I completed one-year sub-specialty training in Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at the London National Medical Laser Centre, United Kingdom in 1995, where I received intensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of therapeutic Gastrointestinal endoscopy, in particular Endoscopic Laser Therapy of Gastrointestinal malignancy and Endoscopic ultrasound staging of Gastrointestinal cancer. I was previously Senior Consultant and Head of Gastrointestinal cancer. I was previously Senior Consultant and Head of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Service at Singapore's Changi General Hospital and Vice-president of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore.

Dr Jarrod Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and attained specialist accreditation in Gastroenterology in 2009. In 2010, he was invited to be Clinical Lead and Chairman of Endoscopy for the newly opened Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he established the Division of Gastroenterology and the Endoscopy Centre for the new hospital before leaving for private practice in 2013. In 2014, he founded gutCARE, the first group practice in Gastroenterology in Singapore, which focuses on delivering sub-specialist expertise in digestive diseases.
Dr Jarrod Lee is well established regionally in endoscopy. He is the only doctor from Southeast Asia to win a Crystal Award, an international award for endoscopic excellence. In 2011, he beat over 100 top endoscopists to win the coveted ASGE AV Award, an international award that defines the reference standard for the world. He has a special interest in incorporating the latest advanced imaging and new techniques into endoscopy and everyday practice, and in digestive cancer screening and prevention.
Dr Mark Fernandes

Dr Mark Fernandes at gutCARE Digestive•Liver•Endoscopy Associates is an established gastroenterologist with a special interest in liver disease. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with honours and went on to complete his residency and Gastroenterology training at the National University Hospital in Singapore. He pursued an Advanced Fellowship in Interventional Hepatology at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan and furthered his exposure to Liver Transplantation Medicine at the King's College Hospital, London. He was the first Gastroenterologist in Singapore to perform Radiofrequency Ablation for liver cancer. In 2009, he established the Liver Tumour Ablative Service at National University Hospital (NUH), in collaboration with the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and was also actively involved in the liver transplantation programme at NUH. Dr Fernandes has also a strong interest in monitoring the progression of liver disease using Fibroscan ®.
Dr Fernandes has presented research work at international conferences and published in international peer-reviewed journals. He was a Clinical Tutor at the National University Singapore.
